The Association and Joining

The Association was formed in 2001 to promote the interests of Beach Hut Owners in the Southend area. All the members of the Association committee are Beach Hut owners and volunteers. The committee meets four times per year in addition to the Annual General Meeting, in which all members are invited and takes place during November.

Being a member of the Association means you'll be a part of the group whose aim is to help each other improve things for all hut owners.

As well as our regular newsletters and members-only Facebook page you'll get access to our recommended traders list, discounted hut insurance, representation in Southend-on-Sea City Council negotiations on lease renewals and sea defences, recommendations in how to secure your hut to combat vandalism and crime and we'll be able to contact you should we be aware of anything happening to your hut.

Every member counts and it is important that the association membership covers as many of the beach huts as possible. The more members we have, the greater we will be able to represent and influence in all matters concerning the common interest of Hut Owners.

Membership of the association costs just £20 for three years (current period 2023-2026), which can be paid by cheque or bank transfer; just fill in our membership form and email it back.
